Title: Sapaan Rinjani (Rinjani's Greeting)
There's a Javanese proverb that says, "nature is the true teacher".
I was thrown back to this one unforgettable trip back in 2018 to Mount Rinjani, the jewel of Lombok, one of Indonesia's well-known landscape. The whole scene and experience was beyond beautiful - magical and challenging in every aspect. The heat, the humidity, the weight of our bags, all while walking through endless savannas, touching the clouds, and finally went down, resting again in the tranquility Gili Air's beaches. All was even more memorable and enjoyable because of our friends and friendly locals along the journey.
Indonesia's mother nature gave us a common a way of life. The spirit of working hard, but also the importance to rest, stay humble, and connected to our communities. The philosophy we call 'guyub'.
From the highest peaks to the deepest seas, what riches have not been presented to us?The least we can give back is to preserve it with wisdom and a spirit of peace.
